How To Wash Period Underwear
Firstly, rinse the period underwear well in cold water. This step is essential to remove any excess blood and prevent staining. The easiest way to rinse them is to do it while in the shower, bath or in a laundry basin. Alternatively, you can leave them in a bucket of cold water with a bit of laundry detergent to soak if you're not doing washing for a few days. If leaving your underwear to soak, make sure you rinse them again before placing them into the washing machine.
Always wash your underwear in cold or lukewarm water and avoid using fabric softener or bleach as they are made from organic material with mostly plant dye for the material coloring. These products can damage the material and reduce their effectiveness. Instead, wash them in a laundry washing bag with other delicate items on a 40-degree machine wash cycle. This will help keep the underwear in good condition, prevent any damage, pilling, de-threading or tears.
